3 Priority Outcome Areas
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwoods offers daily access to a broad range of programs in three Priority Outcome Areas:
1) Academic Success
2) Good Character and Citizenship
3) Healthy Lifestyles
Serving The Northwoods Since 2000
The Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County (BGCLC) first opened its doors in December 2000. In 2020 we expanded our services to Oneida County in Northern Wisconsin and re-branded as “The Boys & Girls Clubs of The Northwoods” and opening our 2nd location in Rhinelander, WI in the fall of 2021. The activities and programs offered share the common goal of advancing our mission of enabling all young people to achieve their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. This is achieved mainly through after-school and summer programs, which provide a safe, nurturing place for kids to come more than 230 days a year.
No Child Turned Away For Financial Reasons
All of our programs are offered for nominal fees, with financial assistance available to those who can’t afford to pay. No child is ever turned away from the Boys & Girls Club for financial reasons. Nutritious snacks and meals are served to every member every day after school and during our summer sessions as part of summer camp (in many cases, these are their only hot meals of the day).
We Are Growing
Almost 700 Registered Members
In our first year of service we had only 109 registered members with an average daily attendance of 19 youth and served 76 youth through community outreach. We have continued to grow our membership and youth served each year. Today, more than 660 young people are taking advantage of the programs, activities and services provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwoods.
Providing a World Class Club Experience
Our vision is to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.
