Annual Campaign

“We are helping save the lives of Langlade County children one day at a time. The increase in number of youths served, increases our cost substantially. I encourage community members to come and take a tour to see firsthand the impact we have on our youth.”

Brian Miller, Board President

Every day that Lexie walks through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwoods, this is what she experiences. Lexie is 14 years old.  She is always smiling, loves art, learning and playing basketball.  Lexie began attending the Club when she was 8 years old.  She was shy, new to the neighborhood and struggling in school.

Lexie lives with her grandmother who was looking for a place where she could spend after school hours with other children while she was working.

Fast forward to today, Lexie’s grandmother knows that she is safe, she is excelling in school and is seen as a leader among his peers – all of which she credits to the Boys & Girls Club.

There are many children like Lexie who need a safe place to spend their after-school hours, where they are filled with a sense of purpose, belonging, and are exposed to new experiences and opportunities.

Thanks to the generous support of our community, kids like Lexie have somewhere special to go when the school bells ring.  At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwoods we do WHATEVER IT TAKES to change a child’s life. Every youth that comes to the Club receives homework help, computer access, fun activities, field trips, a hot meal, and so much more.  The Club is a community of support-a home away from home.
